Padru

Padru is a municipality in the Province of Gallura North-East Sardinia with about 2,130 inhabitants, 171 metres above sea level.

Padru is a small municipality in south-east Gallura, independent since 1996, made up of many hamlets scattered among granite hills and the valley of the Rio Padrongianus, behind Olbia and San Teodoro. Its territory has nuragic remains and the typical Gallura countryside of stazzi farmsteads. The village has the 19th-century church of San Michele, the former parish church, with its squat square bell tower. It is a good base for walks towards Monte Nieddu and only minutes from the beaches on the coast.
