Bortigiadas

Bortigiadas is a municipality in the Province of Gallura North-East Sardinia with about 800 inhabitants, 479 metres above sea level.

Bortigiadas is an inland Gallura village at almost five hundred metres, among granite above the Coghinas valley. For centuries its people lived scattered in farmsteads across four large districts. Its key ancient site is the Tisiènnari necropolis, rock-cut tombs a few kilometres away, along with several nuraghi and Roman remains. In the village are the 16th-17th-century parish church of San Nicola di Bari and the 18th-century church of Santa Croce. A cherry festival is held in June.
