Palmas Arborea is a Campidano village a few kilometres from Oristano, with the hamlet of Tiria, known in the Middle Ages as Palmas majori in the Giudicato of Arborea. It took its current name in 1862. The village still has a few Campidano courtyard houses with the lolla, the portico on the courtyard, and mud-brick walls, and the parish church of Sant'Antioco. The main feast honours the patron Sant'Antioco on the second Sunday after Easter, with a procession, costumes and traccas, decorated carts.
